Have your children organize their own procession, complete with blessed palms, to celebrate Palm Sunday.

DIRECTIONS

Palm Sunday is the celebration of Our Lord's triumph as King of Israel, and we will greet Him with the words His own people used for Him when we participate in the procession with palms at church, and the Mass that follows. Children love processions, so we might continue this one at home around the family garden or festive dinner table. For the front of the procession, teenage daughters could make a banner to which could be glued contrasting pieces of fabric cut to the shapes of symbols such as a crown, a palm, or the Star of David.

The palm symbolizes victory and completes the message of the Crucifix, teaching the whole lesson — that the Passion and Death were the means to the Victory.
