CWN Editor's Note: Pope Francis has sent a message of solidarity to a group of migrants in Lajas Blanacas, Panama.

“I too am a child of migrants, who set out in search of a better future,” the Pontiff wrote. He said that migrants represent “the suffering Body of Christ when they are fored to leave their country, to face the risks and tribulations of a difficult journey, when they find no other way out.”

Being a "child of migrants" is not particularly unique. Migration is as old as humanity. Most of the people I know, or work with, are either migrants or children of migrants. The problems start when chaotic mass "migration" is being used for playing dirty divisive politics or human trafficking. Francis doesn't seem to realize any of the downsides of open borders.
